Internet Get Rich Quick Schemes: Do They Ever Work?

If you’re like most Internet users you get spam email almost every day offering you things you don’t want and would probably never think to buy. You may also get advertisements for schemes where you can make thousands of dollars a week in your spare time. You’re told how easy and fun it is to get rich, and you won’t have to do any work. It’s so quick and simple that anyone can do it. If anyone can do it and get rich, why isn’t everyone doing it? There’s usually a reason why these things don’t take off–they aren’t real.

The only person getting any money is the one that’s doing the initial advertising. Once he gets your money in return for telling you about his patented system, he’s gone. So are your hopes and dreams of getting rich and the money you gave him. Some people do make a little bit of money off of the information they’ve been sold, but most of that same information is out there for free if you know where to look. It also won’t make you rich, especially not overnight, and it requires a lot more work than you were originally led to believe.

If you’ve ever fallen for one of these scams, you know how humiliating and aggravating it can be. You feel bad that you fell for it, and you’re upset because you lost money and you aren’t going to be rich after all. The days of getting rich from a dot com after just a few days are over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make any money on the Internet. There are legitimate opportunities out there to start up Internet businesses and make an honest, but modest, living. These are much better uses of your time and resources than schemes that promise you riches.
